President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came into office with a promise that spoke directly to one of Nigeria’s deepest wounds: insecurity. Before the election of 2023, his security agenda acknowledged the seriousness of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, weak policing, rural vulnerability, porous borders, poor security welfare, and the urgent need to reform Nigeria’s security architecture.
